24 hours ago we completed the fast of Yom Kippur, where we spent the better portion of 25 hours banging our chest, verbalizing our transgressions, fasting and praying for forgiveness from the King of Kings. In fact, we recite a lengthy list of transgressions eight times throughout the five Yom Kippur prayer services. One cannot begin to fix his mistakes until he has verbalized and internalized his actions.

Today UNESCO held a truly infamous vote to de-Judaize Jerusalem and the Temple Mount and as if on cue the Israeli Government and Jewish organizations worldwide condemned them. Bibi declared the UNESCO “The theater of the absurd” and everyone made a grand show of mourning in sackcloth and ashes. The sad truth is that the State of Israel and the Jewish People set the stage for this vote long ago.

  • For the sin of creating Jewish Temple Mount “visitation hours” - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of forcing Jews to stand in a special line before entering the Temple Mount - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of forcing Jews to hand over their IDs before entering the Temple Mount - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of forcing Jews to undergo humiliating strip searches for religious items before entering the Temple Mount - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of forcing Jews to walk together under the watchful eye of the Jordanian WAKF, while on the Temple Mount - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of arresting Jews and banning them from the Temple Mount for the crime of speaking to their God - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of arresting Jews and banning them from the Temple Mount for the crime of bowing before their God - UNESCO had their vote!
  • For the sin of arresting Jews and banning them from the Temple Mount for the crime of uttering words of Torah - UNESCO had their vote!

Until the Israeli Government and the Jewish Nation will admit and correct their foolish and damaging ways, they have no right to criticize UNESCO or any other major international body!  As the old saying goes, why should they be holier than the pope?

As we say on Yom Kippur during the confessions: “For all these, O God of Forgiveness, forgive us, pardon us and atone for us
