Today was a magnificent day in Hevron! Today marked the culmination of years of tenacious work to purchase two buildings from their Arab owners very near the revered Tomb of the Patriarchs. I felt very honored and privileged to be able to participate in this incredible accomplishment by the Jewish Community of Hevron - see video: https://youtu.be/xtUZNu2Zi6E. Both the planning and execution of the stealth entrance to the buildings were flawless and resulted in total success. There are alot of great people deserving much praise right now!

However, reports are now coming out that Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon is actually considering evicting the Jewish owners. Is this some kind of sick joke? Is Bibi Netanyahu really going to let this happen? Especially after all his recent tough talk about how important Hevron is?

After so many horrible terrorist attacks, does the Jewish Community of Hevron not deserve the basic right to possess legally purchased property?

Whatever terrible excuses Yaalon may try to come up with, did Beit Beracha have permits before it was inhabited? No, I know because I personally was inside there as well before authorities knew what was going on.

In short, there is clear precedent for allowing the Jews to stay. And there is also clear precedent in history of anti-semites kicking out Jews from their properties because they are Jewish. Which legacy does Moshe Yaalon seek? And to those who voted for these people, don't get me started.....

May we hear only good news from Hevron!

Shabbat Shalom,

Ben Packer
