It used to be a popular joke when anyone who was a unique outspoken advocate for Israel in the Political Arena that he or she should become the next Prime Minister of Israel.

I have heard it for example said of Mike Huckabee who has visited Israel over 30 times and is one of Israel's greatest friends and supporters. It was said of Scoop Jackson who happened to be a Democrat. And some are saying it even now about Robert Menendez who has been one of Israel's greatest supporters as well. The tables have now turned.

For the first time ever I am hearing calls from Americans for Bibi Netanyahu to become the next President of the United States. Israel's position in the world has dramatically changed. Bibi, as he is affectionately known, is one of the world's greatest orators in both English as well as Hebrew (not a simple feat). He learned his English in Philadelphia at the Cheltenham High School when he was a teenager. He learned his oratory fighting for the State of Israel whether at the United Nations or the Knesset.

He left America to fight in the Six Day War in 1967. If only he could have maintained his American citizenship (one has to relinquish U.S.citizenship when one joins the Knesset in Israel) he could well be considered for the Presidency of the United States. It is America's loss, Israel's gain. Most of the above is said tongue in cheek, but the truth is Bibi Netanyahu is one of the great leaders of the world today. He is close to maintaining the Prime Ministership of Israel longer than anyone else-not an easy feat in a very diversified country like Israel. Despite President Obama doing everything in his power to defeat Bibi Netanyahu, he will not.

The President's latest affront to Netanyahu and there have been too many, is to firstly deny a meeting with the Prime Minister much as he had his Cabinet deny meetings recently to Israel's Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, and secondly to rile up his Democratic followers in Congress to boycott Bibi's address on Iran to Congress on March 3rd. It remains to be seen if the Democrats will indeed heed the President's call or realize that it is too politically risky to be forever remembered that they were the ones who boycotted one of the world's greatest leaders speeches on the world's greatest threat ever.

Their constituents will ask, How could you do such a thing? The world is in crisis and you decide to boycott a discussion that is crucial to the world's survival?  Believe me every Senator and every Congressman who does not attend Bibi's speech on March 3rd will be remembered for an eternity because the Jewish People and Historians will not forget.

I always like to remind those who somehow don't get a chance to read the Bible much that the world was informed thousands of years ago that, "those who bless Israel will be blessed and those that curse Israel shall be cursed". The President's slights against Bibi Netanyahu have been catalogued, analyzed, and recorded for posterity.

I have done so in previous articles. President Obama's latest insult takes the cake. I suggest he reverse himself and invites the Prime Minister for a tete a tete and a beer and tells all his Democratic friends to attend what clearly will prove to be one of the all time greatest speeches ever. Otherwise, he is creating a greater rift that does not need to be widened and losing sight of the real problem which is Iran. Don't be surprised if a Congressman or two calls for Netanyahu for President.
