Dr. Joseph Frager
The Haftorah read on the first day of Sukkot from Zechariah prophecies an Earthquake in the heart of Jerusalem. "On that day His feet will stand astride Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the East, and the Mount of Olives will split at its Center, Eastward and Westward making a huge ravine; half the mountain will move Northward and half will move Southward".
The Fault Line in Jerusalem rivals that of the more well known San Andreas Fault in the West Coast of the United States. The European Union has spent millions studying the Fault Line in order to use it for their Political Purposes to divide Jerusalem. As it turns out the worst hit area when an Earthquake occurs will be the Temple Mount. Earthquakes have already occurred in Jerusalem. Zechariah mentions the Earthquake that occurred in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Scientists estimate that this Earthquake was 7.8 to 8.2 on the Richter Scale. An Earthquake in Jerusalem on January 15th, 1546 was 6.7 on the Richter Scale. The last Earthquake was in 1927 and caused the Allenby Bridge to collapse.
Earthquakes generally occur every 80 years in Jerusalem. There currently is 10 meters of unrelieved stress along the African Rift where the Jerusalem Fault Line occurs. In other words , an Earthquake can occur in Jerusalem in the near future. The Great Rift Valley runs for 3000 miles from Syria down to Mozambique caused by the separation of African and Eurasian Tectonic Plates.
The European Union has done everything in its power to divide the Land of Israel and especially Jerusalem. Sweden's recent recognition of the Arab State of Palestine and Great Britain's non-binding recognition is just another example of the ongoing Pan-Arabism that has overtaken the world despite all the rampant Terrorism, Endless Rockets against Israel, and increasing world threat of Iran's Nuclear Program. Not only is the EU rewarding the Arabs for their Rockets and Terror Tunnels but is planning crippling economic and cultural sanctions on Israel. The drummed up and totally baseless excuse given is that Israel is planning the construction of 2600 apartments in Jerusalem. No mention of the fact that these plans have been in the works for years and that the Arabs will be given at least as many units in Jerusalem.
The fact that the State Department's Jean Psaki went ballistic about this as the Prime Minister was about to return to Israel also makes no sense. The fact that Secretary of State Kerry can pledge 212 million dollars to reconstruct Hamas' Terror Tunnels also makes no sense. This is a very disturbing time. It is out of control. We all have to do our share to set the world right. Providence will do the rest.
