The love affair between President Obama and President of Turkey Recep Taygip Erdogan seems to be coming to an abrupt end.

The impending massacre of Kurds in Kobani along the Syrian Turkish Border is forcing the rupture. President Obama wants Erdogan to act like a NATO Ally instead of the man he really is which is anything but a NATO Ally. He is more of an Ally of Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood than a friend of America or the West. Israel has already had its fill of Erdogan and gotten a true taste of who he is and what he is up to.

Now America is getting a glimpse of who this man is. It is doubtful that after all the "nudging" and the wrangling the President would still feel the same about the man as he did in the not too distant past. Not long ago the President was quoted as saying, " I think it is fair to say that over the last several years, the relationship between Turkey and the United States has continued to grow across every dimension. And I find Prime Minister Erdogan to be an outstanding partner and an outstanding friend on a wide range of issues".

It may be recalled that President Obama forced Prime Minister Netanyahu to apologize to Erdogan on March 22nd, 2013 at the end of the President's most recent trip to Israel for Israel's fully appropriate and justified raid on the cruise vessel Mavi Marmara. The Mavi Marmara was on a mission to challenge Israel's naval blockade of Gaza in May of 2010 orchestrated and supported by Erdogan himself. Israeli soldiers were met by steel rods and attacked by so called "activists" on the Mavi Marmara. The United Nations which is not known for its support of Israel exonerated the Jewish State in Sept. 2011. The Prime Minister had no reason to apologize. He did so because the President of the United States handed him the phone and said apologize "or else".

The President is now sadly eating his own words as a massacre of Kurds looms in Kobani because Erdogan could care less. This is the same Erdogan who is quoted by the Associated Press saying "Israel is more barbaric than Hitler". If Erdogan does not act then thousands of Kurds will be butchered. The President is getting a very bitter taste of Erdogan's Turkey. It is high time the President stops trusting all the wrong people. Kobani may actually be a watershed moment when the President sees the futility of his ways and reconsiders not only the ISIS threat but the Iranian threat which is vastly more dangerous and insidious.
