In my other life, I'm a technical writer tasked with documenting some very exciting and innovative software. It's the flipside of the coin; another way to promote Israel. I began teaching technical writing almost a decade ago, helping many new immigrants find employment in a challenging, mostly English-speaking environment.
One aspect of that task involves training people to get jobs in Israel - and that includes teaching them how to interview. There are many skills that can help you land a job. Some of them are practical, market-related skills such as knowing a certain tool, language, or industry. And then there are the “soft” skills, related more to personality, performance, and attitude.
In honor of the 8th Annual JobMob Guest Blogging Contest, I wrote a guest post about the top eight “soft” skills that you not only need to have, but need to show during your brief interview. You can read about those skills here:
If you live in Israel, are thinking about living in Israel, dream of living in Israel, are looking for a job in Israel, looking for a job anywhere, might be looking for a job, dream of looking for a job, need to interview people, dream of interviewing people - this is a great set of skills to read about.
And how is this related to this site - Israel's hi-tech is a major economic boost to Israel and Israel has one of the best economies in the world right now.. So, I'll keep writing as a Soldier's Mother, I'll keep posting here - but I'll also keep honing my skills and hope you will too.
Please visit the above site - and leave a comment if you want- share it with others. The best response to our enemies remains keeping Israel strong - militarily and economically. So, in effect, my two lives come together in Israel...
