Tamar Yonah hosts the most popular English speaking radio talk-show in Israel: 'The Tamar Yonah Show'. She informs people of the political changes taking place in the world and how it affects us. Tamar covers the news, as well as interviews respected authors, journalists, and politicians. You'll be exposed to the burning issues facing Israel and be able to call into the show. Tamar is the daughter of a Holocaust survivor. Her father survived the Nazi brutalities and after liberation, made his way to the shores of the British Palestine Mandate, where again fighting for his survival, fought in Israel's war of Independence. This made a great impression on her life and she too has been fighting for Israel by serving in the Israeli army & air force, and afterwards by becoming an activist for Israel and the Jewish nation. Presenting the news to our listeners at Israel National Radio is sometimes daunting. Sometimes the news is so bad (rocket attacks, bombs, terrorist releases, talk of more land retreats, etc.), that I just want to go to bed and pull the covers over my head and escape from the grim political reality. However, there are some perks in doing an almost daily [4 x a week]) radio show and being the Program Director at Israel National Radio, and that is on Sunday mornings when I open my computer and my inbox is laughing so hard, that the hard drive is gasping! Robert Cait, comedian extraordinaire, has just emailed me his latest amazing installment of “News and Jews!” –the brilliant, edgy, clean, pro-Israel/pro-Judaism, comedy show he’s been doing for Israel National Radio since 2011.
'Sometimes the news is so bad that I just want to go to bed and pull the covers over my head and escape from the grim political reality.'
“I offer no apologies and take no prisoners. I’ve got a microphone, a point of view and the ability to mimic almost anyone”, says Cait, whose Benjamin Netanyahu, Shimon Peres and Ehud Barak impressions are so good, it’s a miracle he hasn’t been recruited by the Mossad! ...But he has been recruited by Chabad-Worldwide, who have actually endorsed Cait’s stand-up comedy show!
“I love performing for them (Chabad audiences). We’re looking for a sponsor- personal or corporate, to partner in my Kosher stand-up world tour.”
What makes Robert Cait truly remarkable and quite genius, is his ability to engage both the secular and religious.
“I perform for every Jewish audience: reform, egalitarian, conservative, modern-orthodox, orthodox, it doesn’t matter to me. We’re all Jews. We all share and laugh at the same past and present.”
Cait's secular comedy has been seen on MTV, A&E, Comedy Central and Sirius/XM’s “The Howard Stern Show”. He’s played Las Vegas, Hollywood’s Sunset Strip and the world-famous “Just For Laughs Comedy Festival” in Montreal. His voices have given life to animated movies, like “Mr. Peabody & Sherman”, “Rocky & Bullwinkle”, television’s “Fairly Odd Parents”, the video-game “Skylanders” and countless commercials. Yet, Cait says his greatest joy comes from performing his “Kosher Comedy Show”. --And my favorite is when he uses these same famous voices for our comedy news cast which airs primarily on Sundays after our 'real' newscast.
“There’s nothing more fun or rewarding to me than hearing other Jews belly-laugh at our uniqueness. We’re all a family, enjoying our private family jokes”.
“I love to talk about Jewish holidays, Jewish education, how the world sees us and especially Israel”, says Cait, who, while conversational in Hebrew, French and Yiddish, only performs in English.
Cait's comedy isn’t typical or old-fashioned, or Borsht-Belt type ‘shtick’. It’s modern, contemporary and makes you feel proud to be a Jew.
Most of all… it’s hilarious!

FYI... Robert happily takes his show on the road. If you have a bar mitzvah or any other celebration or party where you want people to talk about your party months later, this truly is a unique act you can book, and it's kosher!
and keep listening to “News and Jews!” on Israel National Radio and Facebook.

...and now for me, it's back to the real news. Blah, yech.
