Fact and Fiction

"Truth is stranger than fiction; fiction has to make sense." Rosten, Leo
We live in strange times. Who would ever have dreamt, in one's worst, most terrifying nightmare, that an Israeli Prime Minister would be offering its enemies valuable land and at the same time be investigated for multiple crimes of corruption? None of the big time, small time or blog time political commentators seem to have the insider's dope on what's really behind Olmert's transformation from Betari/Revisionist/Right-wing nationalist to Left-wing/give our land away/corruption-suspect. Which famous fiction/mystery/detective/suspense writer would you assign to the task of finding out who and what is truly behind Ehud Olmert?
Who's your writer of choice? Grisham? Ludlam? Michael Connelly? or?
