Originally from Petersburg, Virginia, Ben Packer moved to Israel in 1999, where he served in the IDF's Givati Brigade in the Gaza Strip. Ben served as a Rabbi on campus at Univ. of North Carolina and at Duke Univ. Ben now serves as Director of the Jerusalem Heritage House (www.heritagehouse.org.il) and Co-Director of Young Jewish Conservatives (www.youngjewishconservatives.org). He lives in the Old City of Jerusalem with his wife and 6 children....

Shockingly, no bombs sent my way in the mail today. I'm just saying that if none of the many "bombs" went off, you got to wonder if there was ever any intention for them to actually explode. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but......these days.....and when was the last time the postal service delivered packages on time? They all arrived today! That's really the amazing part that should be investigated.

Assassination of Saudi Journalist - Off the Rails!

You thought this had peaked didn't you? Oh no, its now completely nuts! After it became abundantly clear that Jamal Khashoggi was no longer alive and was in fact killed in the saudi consulate in Turkey, the saudi excuses have just gotten worse and worse. It didn't happen, it wasn't us, its a "heinous crime", and more lies. President Trump has already (not very shocking) called it "the worse cover-up in history". Yes, that sounds like something he would say. Anyway, the newest report says that pieces of the body have been found in the garden of the head of the saudi consulate. And why the hell not, where else would it be?!!! Now we have to see how President Trump, Turkey's Erdogan and other world leaders deal with this situation and the saudi arabian leadership. They got alot of oil, so it will probably all work out.

Rumble at the Church

There was an exciting rumble in the "church of the holy sepulchre" today in the Old City of Jerusalem. Some great video available online. In short, different christian groups fight over different parts of the church all the time. In this episode, part of a ceiling started to collapse so the Israeli Antiquities Authority were brought in to fix it. The coptic chrisitan group has been fighting with the ethiopians over ownership of that section of the church. So today the copts tried to block the workers from fixing the ceiling. Didn't go so well. Mostly a theatrical performance and entertaining as such.

Nothing New With Gaza

As predicted is last week's update and previous updates, nothing significant was done about hamas/gaza. Although, hamas claimed that the rocket that hit Be'er Sheva last week was lit by lightning.....and who says that saudi arabia has no influence in gaza?!

Terrorist Still on the Run

Weeks have gone by and the arab terrorist murderer of 2 Jews at the Barkan Industrial park is still on the run. This is highly unusual, but he will probably be caught soon. Unfortunately, probably alive.

GA (General Assembly of Jewish Federations of North America) in Tel Aviv

Nobody in Israel knows, cares or cares to know. The American Jewish community is facing a colossal existential crisis of assimilation, so their "leaders" came to Israel to complain about the Western Wall.  And they wonder why no one (especially their chlidren) takes them seriously......

Prime Minister Netanyahu thinks that folks within his Likud party are actively plotting to try and replace him as Prime Minister. "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you"
