Originally from Petersburg, Virginia, Ben Packer moved to Israel in 1999, where he served in the IDF's Givati Brigade in the Gaza Strip. Ben served as a Rabbi on campus at Univ. of North Carolina and at Duke Univ. Ben now serves as Director of the Jerusalem Heritage House (www.heritagehouse.org.il) and Co-Director of Young Jewish Conservatives (www.youngjewishconservatives.org). He lives in the Old City of Jerusalem with his wife and 6 children....

There was a dramatic article ("How many settlers need to be evacuated to make way for a palestinian state") on the evil haaretz website in the past few days that requires our attention. The basic argument of the article is that its still possible to establish an arab state in parts of Judea and Samaria. This could be accomplished, G-d forbid, by destroying 33 Jewish communities and expelling 46,000 Jews from their homes.

In the article, the names, locations and populations of the different communities are listed. While there may be some discrepancies in the population figures and its somewhat unclear how the author relates to the numerous unauthorized communities (outposts), the threat remains quite real. The author painfully points out the lack of development in these areas, even since the Trump Administration has been in office and suggests this is proof of Prime Minister Netanyahu's true intentions. I'm not sure if its proof, but certainly requires that some hard questions be asked and answered.

I strongly feel it would behoove those who wish to prevent the establishment of another terror state within the Jewish ancestral homeland to work to strengthen all of the communities listed, especially those in the northern Shomron and eastern Gush Etzion which are especially vulnerable to the potential threat of ethnic cleansing. It would also be wise to show these figures and illustrations to our "leaders" and hear their thoughts and what they are doing about it.

We can't say we weren't warned!
