Why is there still talk about "two states for two peoples"? I turned on the radio to Reshet Bet (probably my first mistake) on Motzei Shabbat while enjoying my Melave Malka, and what do I hear? Some centrist (yanni) politician whose expiry date has long past, talking about – guess what? "Two states for two peoples"! How'd you guess?! Don't these dim wits have anything better to talk about? Don't they have anything better to do with their lives? But then I got to thinking: Why, in fact, is "two states for two peoples" still an issue? Why after the pulverizing of the Left, after the strengthening of the Right, and after the Trump administration's support – why is "two states" still alive? After finishing my leftover chicken from Shabbat, I came to the conclusion that we have no one else to blame – yes, not even Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sarah – other than OURSELVES! Yes, that's right – WE are to blame! Why haven't WE settled TENS OF THOUSANDS of more Jews in Judea and Samaria??? Why are there still hundreds, if not thousands of apartments lying empty in the yishuvim??? Why aren't people PROTESTING and DEMANDING our government build EXTENSIVELY in Judea and Samaria, so young couples have an opportunity to purchase a nice apartment at a decent price??? And for God's sake – where are all those the young, energetic couples and youth??? Why aren't THEY flocking to Yehudah and Shomron??? Why are there still vast bald spots of land between existing communities and encroaching Arab villages??? Why are we allowing the Arabs to build and expand – impinging on the Jewish communities, to the point of choking us out? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, WE are to blame. The responsibility lies with us. So don't be surprised next time you hear (or, God forbid, see) "two states for two peoples" – it hasn't disappeared from world's stage – and won't – until WE do something about it! COME LIVE IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA!
