A Letter from a Settler to Jared and Ivanka

Shalom from Har Bracha, a community of 350 families situated on the frontline of Jewish settlement of the Land of Israel! I hope this letter finds you in good health and happiness!

First, thank you for attending the opening ceremony of the moving of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel!

Jared and Ivanka, I am writing to you in view of your having had ties to a charity in Israel that provides emergency medical equipment, often needed to save Jewish (and Arab!) lives from the aftermath of radical Muslim terrorist attacks Parenthetically, your father, Ivanka, has also made six-figure donations in the past to the same charity.

Jared and Ivanka! If God forbid a PLO/Hamas/ISIS terrorist state were ever to be established in the heart of the State of Israel -- in Judea and Samaria -- all the emergency medical equipment in the world would not be capable of handling all the death and destruction, and all the blood and mangled bodies, God forbid, that would take place!

The only thing preventing such a horrifying and dreadful scenario from occurring is the settlements – and in particular, the outpost settlements located on the frontlines, like Har Bracha in Samaria, where I live! Like the Pilgrims of old -- the first settlers and founders of Plymouth, Massachusetts -- we too are religiously motivated and are willing to sacrifice our lives to fulfill the commandment of conquering and settling the Land that God promised to our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and us. Just three months ago, my neighbor and friend, Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal, may God avenge his blood, was brutally stabbed to death by an Arab terrorist while on his way home to Har Bracha to celebrate the 'brit milah' of his nephew while hitch-hiking (sadly, our government  has failed to provide proper public transportation in Judea and Samaria, and many of the residents have no choice but to hitchhike). The lowly terrorist and his family live in the city of Schem (or Nabulus, as the Arabs call it), literally a stone's throw away from Har Bracha, and thank God, after a month-long effort by our brave and courageous IDF soldiers, he was captured. If not for the settlers -- men, women, and children who, in effect, serve as IDF soldiers 24/7, more vicious terrorists would attempt to kill innocent Jews, simply because they are Jewish!

Ivanka, I plead with you! PLEASE, explain to your father that the settlements are not obstacles to peace, they are obstacles to further terrorist attacks and bloodshed! If not for the settlements, who knows where the State of Israel would be today, and how many Jews would have had to sacrifice their lives?!

Thank you for your time and effort in the embassy move, and I hope and pray that if not on this trip, then on one of your future trips to Israel, you get a chance to see for yourself just how vital the settlements really are for the State of Israel, particularly those on the frontline of settlement such as Har Bracha, and have the opportunity to meet the strong and heroic widow of Rabbi Ben-Gal, Miriam, and her four young children. Miriam is an amazing woman, and I'm sure if you met her, you would admire her tremendous strength of character!

With Love of Israel,

Yonaton Behar
