Dear God,

Shalom! I hope this email finds you in good health and spirits!

God, at the outset, I want to say that I'm sorry for not writing to you first. My first two blogs were addressed to Ivanka Trump and my wife (it was her birthday!). Now, I know I should have written to you first because everything an observant Jew does begins with you! The first thing an observant Jew does upon awakening every morning – even before getting out of bed – is to say 'modeh ani lefanecha' ('I give thanks before you'). We start our day off by praying to you for about a half an hour (depending on who's leading the prayers). Before we eat breakfast, we recite a prayer thanking you for giving us our food. At the end of the month upon receiving our paycheck from work, the first 10% goes to you (well, maybe not you directly – but to your favorite charities!). In short, God – you're the first!

God, the reason I wrote to Ivanka before writing you (I also wrote a letter to her father, President Trump, but not on my blog) was this: in an interview President Trump gave to the 'Israel HaYom' newspaper, when asked about the settlements, he said, and I quote: "The settlements are something that very much complicates and always have complicated making peace, so I think Israel has to be very careful with the settlements." There was also buzz in the media about President Trump pushing a two-state solution as part of his over-all Middle East "peace" plan.

To be honest, God – with such worrying news, I thought you wouldn't mind if I addressed these issues before writing you. I'm sure you understand, but in any case, please forgive me. Thanks!

God, you and I know the settlements are NOT an obstacle to peace -- the exact opposite -- they are an obstacle to WAR! If not for the settlements, and the settlers themselves -- who in effect serve as IDF soldiers 24/7/365 -- there would have been a PLO/Hamas/ISIS terrorist state in the heart of our one and only homeland A LONG TIME AGO, endangering the lives of millions of Jews (and Arabs)! So why is that so hard for President Trump and the world to understand, God? (even our Prime Minister seems to be coming to his senses!)

God, as you are well aware, living here on Har Bracha in Samaria, on the frontline of Jewish settlement, is not always easy. Nevertheless, we settlers do it for you, and for the entire Jewish nation, in order to protect our one and only homeland. We are willing to bear the brunt, and even risk our lives (our friend and neighbor, Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal, who was murdered by a savage Arab terrorist just a month ago, can testify). To tell you the truth, God – we do it simply because of our faith in you, in your Torah, and in your commandments. We are 1000% sure that your promise to our forefathers Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaacov – to give the entire Land of Israel to their descendants, the Jewish nation, is eternal and will never be broken!

In our daily morning prayers, God, we recite the verse from King David's Psalms:

"For the Lord will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance." God, we've got faith in you!

With Love of Israel,

Yonaton Behar
