Before turning to other matters, and letting my fellow Arutz 7 bloggers carry the ball for a while, here is a summary of our latest discussion and corollary points that arose from it:
1. We have reaffirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt the halachic determination of the Ramban, and of all the early and later authorities of Jewish Law, that it is a Torah obligation for a Jew to live in the Land of Israel throughout all generations (Ramban, Supplement to the Sefer Mitzvot of the Rambam, Positive Commandment #4; and Pitchei T’shuva, Shulchan Orach, Even Haezer, 75:3, sub-section 6).
2. We have further established beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is a total waste of time to read the talkbacks of Mike from Virginia and sk from the USA, not only because they often contradict the teachings of the Torah, but also because they are based on mere cyberspace knowledge of what goes on in Israel, which is about as authentic as the gridiron experience of a living-room quarterback.
3. We have also made perfectly clear, based on past, proven experience, that frontal attacks on mistaken rabbis merely serve to entrench them and their followers in their mistaken opinions, the same way that attacking Couch Potatoes incites them to strike back even more vituperatively with their excuses and misleading views.
In conclusion, to all of our faithful readers in Israel and truly loved brothers in exile, l’hitraot. We are going fishin’ right now for bigger game.
