      In Summary

Before turning to other matters, and letting my fellow Arutz 7 bloggers carry the ball for a while, here is a summary of our latest discussion and corollary points that arose from it:

      1. We have reaffirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt the halachic determination of the Ramban, and of all the early and later authorities of Jewish Law, that it is a Torah obligation for a Jew to live in the Land of Israel throughout all generations (Ramban, Supplement to the Sefer Mitzvot of the Rambam, Positive Commandment #4; and Pitchei T’shuva,  Shulchan Orach, Even Haezer, 75:3, sub-section 6).

      2. We have further established beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is a total waste of time to read the talkbacks of Mike from Virginia and sk from the USA, not only because they often contradict the teachings of the Torah, but also because they are based on mere cyberspace knowledge of what goes on in Israel, which is about as authentic as the gridiron experience of a living-room quarterback.

      Living Room Quarterbacks

      3. We have also made perfectly clear, based on past, proven experience, that frontal attacks on mistaken rabbis merely serve to entrench them and their followers in their mistaken opinions, the same way that attacking Couch Potatoes incites them to strike back even more vituperatively with their excuses and misleading views.

In conclusion, to all of our faithful readers in Israel and truly loved brothers in exile, l’hitraot. We are going fishin’ right now for bigger game.

We are the Champions - UPDATE

We the bloggers of Arutz 7, Shimshon, and all of the Jews in Israel, are the champions, the undisputed winners, the real heavyweights.

The deadline has elapsed, and all of the lovers of exile have refused to accept the challenge to come to Jerusalem and debate us. Their unanimous unwillingness to debate the issue of aliyah before a panel of impartial judges is a clear and absolute confession that we are right in maintaining that a Jew belongs in the Land of Israel and not in Virginia, England, or Hong Kong. All of their hysterical screaming has proven to be “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing,” or, in the words of the “Kuzari,” the chattering of parrots which make a lot of noise but don’t know what they are saying. While we are proud of our overwhelming victory, it saddens us that so many of our brothers in the exile are blind to the truth that it is the Almighty Himself who has orchestrated the return of the Jewish People to Israel, opening the doors and inviting the captives home to Zion. Like true champions, we extend our hands out to the losers, encouraging them to cast away their excuses and fears, and join us in the ongoing building of our nation and our Land. The gate of repentance is always open, so let them begin by repeated over and over, a thousand times if need be, “Fishman is right, Fishman is right,” just as Korach and his followers are doomed to call out from the bowels of the earth, “Moshe is true and his Torah is true.”

      Gone Fishin'

With only 24 hours to go before the entry deadline expires for the Great Debate, I've gone fishing, knowing that all of our big talking brothers in the Diaspora will find excuses why not to show up in Jerusalem for the deciding showdown. Lovers of Israel, get ready to break open the champagne!
