I am an obstacle to peace. At least that is what Barack Obama thinks. I am what he calls, a 'settler'. It is because of me and my family and neighbors that there is no peace in the world. After all, we are sending our kids to school to get educations to better themselves and the world. We are living our daily lives, farming the land and turning the desert to green. What a crime! At the same time, look what the Arabs are doing today. The Arabs who came in as occupiers of our land, hate Jews, lose wars they waged against us, and then blame us for all their ills. They support terrorism, harbor terrorists and run a totally corrupt government both in Gaza and the Samarian region. They burn American flags in the streets and hand out candy to strangers when Americans are killed in terror attacks. And Obama comes to this region and says that the Arabs have suffered under us and that it is intolerable?
Aren't there more appropriate issues for this U.S. president to focus on? Hmmm, North Korea has the bomb, Iran wants to get it to use against Israel and the West, and Obama, oops, I mean Osama, is threatening another terror attack on America, bigger than the 9-11 attack ...but I, a Jewish re-settler in my own homeland am the obstacle to peace?
President Obama stated in his 'A New Beginning' speech in Cairo: "The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements." He also stated his desire to see a carved up Israel in order to make way for a Palestinian Arab Moslem state.
There are many reactions one can make to this type of anti-Semitic, apartheid agenda of his, but here's one creative way of responding to this evil decree from the Obama administration, and I thought that I would report on it for you...
Young Jewish 'settlers' are answering Obama's call for the dismantling of Jewish outposts and settlements, by naming new ones after him. So now in what Obama deems a horrible illegal outpost, he has a new building that has popped up like a mushroom named especially after him.
The logic of this, according to the YESHA youth is that with Obama's efforts to prevent building in our national and Biblical homeland, it gives our people even more motiviation to double their efforts to build. And since this new surge of motivation was due to Obama's evil decree, they want to acknowledge him with naming an outpost after him. By the way, can you imagine the headlines if Israeli security forces came and bulldozed down 'Obama's outpost'.
And so, I thought, why not help our youth with re-naming other out posts in acknowledgment of the other key players wanting to oust Jews from their land. How about Hillarly Hill? Or Mount Mitchell for George Mitchell? Or maybe even an Oslo Outpost or a 'Road map ranch'?
Seeing bulldozers sent by the Israeli government by order of the U.S. president to destroy and flatten these places would be a riot to watch on CNN, BBC and other International News channels.
"And now for the CNN news headlines: Israeli forces have bulldozed down and destroyed Obama's Outpost and Hillarly Hill today. Tomorrow they are set to destroy the Roadmap Ranch and Oslo Outpost. It is reported that hundreds of Israeli youth are gathering to defend the area, and there could be violence from security forces on these settler protestors if they don't abandon the outpost. More details to follow as they come in. And now to sports..."
Maybe some of you more creative readers can come up with some good ideas for the re-settler youth?
James T. Kirk: "Captain's log, star date 20,090: On the way to an interplanetary conference to meet with the Romulan and Klingon nations. I am representing the Federation and am due to make a speech entitled 'A New Beginning'. We, in the Federation, are hoping to seek out new ways to solve the ongoing hostilities and attacks by Romulan and Klingon forces. We are on a trek to find a different approach for cooperation between our species."
Kirk: "Sulu, warp speed ahead to planet Cairos."
Sulu: "Yes, captain."
Kirk: "Bones, ever since I was nominated to represent the Federation, I've been feeling strange. And the closer we get to Cairos, the stranger I feel. Give me something to keep me functioning until after I give my speech. It's going to be beamed on all the major space channels and I can't afford any mistakes if I want to ever make admiral. Oh, and tell Uhura to make sure that a teleprompter is available."
McCoy: "My G-d Jim! You do look odd. You're your hair is starting to kink and your skin has turned a shade darker. My tricorder is indicating electromagnetic light pulses, circling above your head like a halo. I'm not sure what you have, but I'm going to inject you with this plasmatic stabilizer, and I am going to keep my eye on you!"
Kirk: "Thanks Bones. I want you, Spock and Chekov to beam down with me to Cairos."
Kirk opens his communicator: "Scotty, four to beam down to Planet Cairos. "
At the conference:
The top heads and Elite of the Romulan and Klingon nations are present for Captain Kirk's Federation speech.
Klingon King, Mukhbarak Abdallah: (says in 'Klingon') "Tak urk mang ik batrokuch juh, Kapton Kirk!"
translated: “Welcome to the Middle Eastornian Galaxey, Captain Quirk.”
"DoQh RIch ghaH!" - May the force be with you.”
Kirk lifts an eyebrow and mutters under his breath, “Wrong movie.” Then bows low to the King and states: “It is my honor your Majesty.”
Bones seeing Kirk bow, becomes incensed. “My G-d Jim, did I just see you bow to that king kong of a klingon?
Kirk stammers, “Wha? No. Uh, I saw a Romulan quarter on the floor and just bent down to pick it up. Ahem…” Kirk looked uneasy and then turned his attention to the King.
Klingon King Mukhbarak Abdulla, grunts, "Follow me to the Podium.”
Chekov looks around at the opulence, which was done in gold high-tech, and says to Spock, “I ahm getink a head-ache with all dese gold shining in may eyes . I need ah drink, but ah can't seem to find my peersonal flask I kip on me. Dunt dese peepel haf any Saturnian vodka to offer visitors?"
Spock: "That would not be logical. Klingons do not drink earthly spirits.”
Chekov: “Primitive, Ach!”
Kirk is escorted to the podium where he madly searches for the teleprompter. Spotting it, he begins by puffing out his chest as he looks at all the space creatures in the auditorium. Then, all of a sudden ignoring the teleprompter, he starts a NEW speech.
Skaalan! I am honored to be here and be hosted by two remarkable species: The Romulans and the Klingons. I come here in the name of the Federation, in a type of re-conciliation, A 'New beginning' between the United Planets of the Federation, and our Romulan and Klingon brothers. This cycle of suspicion and discord between our Peoples must end. Although Federation ships and planets have been attacked, and even destroyed by Romu/Klingon forces, we must find a way to end these 'misunderstandings'. And I consider it part of my responsibility as representative of the United Planets of the Federation, to fight against negative stereotypes we have against you. I know that you are really peace loving people. As the holy Klingon Prophet Morph-amed - peace be upon him - said, 'Crush the humanoid Earthlings until they scream from pain and agony, and bow at the feet of the Klingon, then there will be peace.'
I understand that what it really means is that one must be pressed like an olive, to get the oil. This is actually a good thing, and we must not view this and other phrases from the 'Holy Klingran' as acts of aggression, but as acts of goodness to bring out the best in us….."
Bones who can't believe what he is hearing, says to Spock and Chekov, "My G-d! Something has taken over the captain! I can't believe he is saying what he is saying, and he actually believes it!"
Spock: "Yes, Fascinating.
Chekov: "Iyeh need ah drink. Ach!"
Kirk continues: I understand that you have issues with our home base Earth. I think that the Earthlings need to understand that you also have rights on earth, since you once attacked it and occupied it for a period of time. In fact, If you actually took the number of Klingon Earthlings, Earth would be one of the largest Klingon planets in the world. The Klingons there are not going anywhere, and so they must have a base there as well. We humans and other species in the Federation, will make sure that our newest re-built cities and towns on Earth, will be destroyed and handed over to you -in the name of peace. Our presence in places you once conquered is intolerable, and we recognize your suffering. If we just try to understand and respect each other, reject these misconceptions we have of each other, and instead choose to offer opportunities to a better financial future for you so you can experience 'prosperity', I believe we can achieve, two bases, living side by side in peace and security.
We will say this in public, not just behind closed doors …. As the Holy Klingran states, ' those believers who do not believe in everything the Klingran states will be humiliated.' My friends, my brothers, I am humbled and don't mind being humiliated, because the members of the Federation believe in peace, and will die trying to achieve it. This is how committed we are. Peace be upon you, hamdillala urk vocht tak dul-eforganchik."
With that, Kirk pulls out a flask from his pouch and takes a long swig of vodka. Chekov seeing this says, "Captahn, I tink dat is my flask of Vudkah!"
"Hands off comrade Chekov. There are other people who grew up without vodka. I believe in taking what others don't have, from people who do have, and spreading it around a bit."
Chekov murmers, "It was better in mother Russia."
Turning around Kirk offers McCoy a swig and says, "Bones, why can't you cook me up some more of this devil's brew in your lab?"
Bones: My G-d Kirk! I'm a doctor, not a distiller!
Kirk turns to Spock: "Spock, I'm feeling good. I feel like I can change the universe. Yes I can! I am, Spock, what they call, the new Messiah."
Spock: "Illogical Captain. My tricorder is indicating that you are still human. Just delusional".
McCoy: "That's it! Eureka! The Captain is suffering from the 'Messiah Syndrome'! We have to get back to the ship where I have some anti-Messianic serum.
A Klingon crowd gathers around the Federation crew, angry that they are drinking on their planet. Several Klingons pull out long jagged knives and inch towards them growling, '"Kill the infidel humanoids!".
Kirk pulls out his communicator. "Scotty, four to beam up. Now!"
Scotty: "Cap'n, the dylithium chrystals 'ave been stoolen by some Klingon thieves and I don have enou'f power to beam yuh all up. It will take me aht least 3 days to find ah quakular pulsamic neuro-solvin to substitute for a power source."
Kirk: "Scotty, you have 30 seconds…"
Scotty: I'll see wha' I kin doo Cap'n, but you cut the budget for 'defense and supply enterprises' and all went bank-roopt!"
Kirk: "Scotty, beam us up now, or your fired and I'll have my czar take over your department, demote you, and then raise your space taxes."
Scotty: "Ye, Cap'n. I unde'stand!"
Scotty fuses some wires together in a MacGyver sort of way and then stands erect, closes his eyes and as he drags up the transporter levers, says, "THREE to beam up to the Enterprise…. An' one delusional Capn' to beam to Planet Earth… THE KLINGON SIDE of it."
Did you hear this joke? "A recent study of assimilation among secular Jews in America shows that from 100 secular Jews in the first generation, only five are left in the fourth generation. In the Reform and the Conservative Jewish communities, the statistics are not much better.
From 100 'Reform' Jews in the first generation you have only 13 Reform left in the fourth generation!"
From 100 'Conservative' Jews in the first generation you have only 24 left in the fourth generation!"
From 100 'Orthodox' Jews in the first generation you have 2,587 in the fourth generation!"
You might think this is a joke, but it is actually TRUE. See this diagram. These stats were talked about by former Israeli Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau when he attended a 3 day Rabbinical conference held in Europe which proclaimed that the biggest problem facing Judaism today is assimilation in the Diaspora. This is a concern for Jews, but to my Christian readers, the future 'looks' even bleaker for you.
Christians in the United States and Europe are witnessing real threats to their way of life and their belief system. Ditto that for almost all Westerners in the USA and Europe who were born from Christian families but are either secular or just believe, but are not church-goers. Soon your culture and religion will not reign in the places where you call home. Your grandchildren will be living in a much different world than you are living in and enjoying today.
This video below states that your grandchildren will not be living in 'western societies' anymore, and that Islam will be the dominant religion of not only Europe, but the world. The presentation starts a little slow, but stick with it, the information it is showing you will make you either finally take some action, or make you want to buy a ticket to the moon (no pun intended). Please see this video before continuing reading below.
For the Jews however, there is good news… Israel is daily becoming more and more religious. One may not see it in the media and the leadership sitting in their ivory towers, but facts on the ground cannot be denied. There have never been more yeshivot and yeshiva learning in the country, and there has never been a stronger baal tshuva (returning to religious observance) movement in Israel. Observant G-d fearing Jews are gradually taking over the army, with HALF of the new combat officers in the IDF being religious. The education branch in Israel is filling up with more religiously identifying Jews, at the same time that those, still secular, are leaving teaching positions in the quest of finding higher paying jobs. And to top it all off, Haredi women are having 3 times as many children as secular women have. Many other religious women all over Israel are also having large families. My sister-in-law living in another re-settlement has 12 children, my neighbor behind me has 13 children and other families in YESHA easily have 8-12 children. In another phenomena, our kids are getting married earlier, they are not like their westernized parents looking to first get a 'career'. Half my daughter's classmates who graduated with her 2 years ago, already opted to get married and not wait. Many want to go to new hill tops and raise lots of children! It's a different head-set that we from the West are used to. Think how these facts on the ground and our next generation are changing the country, and what it will look like in the near future. So, regarding the die-hard Seculars, the Post Zionists, and the self-hating Jews, they are actually on the decline. The future is almost here, and it looks like it's going to be a Jewish one!
To my Jewish bretheren in the EXILE, come home now. There is no future for the Jewish People in the Exile. Your grandchildren may be living under 'Islamic rule'. Don't think that you have a lot of time. Very soon, it may be impossible to take your savings and money that you have worked for, out of the country. Just yesterday I heard a news report that they are starting to go after Americans who are keeping their money in overseas accounts like the Cayman Islands, etc… In a Bloomberg report, they stated that, "Obama’s plan also would make it riskier for Americans to stash money in tax-havens." This may just be the begining.
My brothers and sisters, if they are starting to go after businesses who want to keep their money in a bank or country of their choosing, then what's to stop them from going after the individual soon after? We may be seeing a situation, as the financial crisis worsens, where the government, or even it's citizens may get angry and state, "If you made your money here in America, it stays in America. If you want to leave, leave, but you're not taking 'OUR' money with you." This has happened before when people could not take their possesions with them and had to leave with nothing but their lives - if they were lucky. We don't need to stretch the imagination. Get out now while you still can with the fruits of your hard earned labor. If you are blessed with having a fully paid-for home, sell it now and come. If you are only blessed with a car and a few belongings, sell what you can't take with you and come home now, before it may be too late. You obviously won't be boarding a plane tomorrow, as these things usually take time and planning, so start that planning now. www.NbN.org.il Once a FIRM plan has been put in place, you can decide when to implement it. Without a plan, you are left to the wolves. Come home -where the future is --otherwise your grandkids may be Moslem.
He fought. He killed. He conquered. He was a normal Jewish man who led what seemed to be a normal, even boring life in pre-state Israel. But Ezra Yakhin was anything but. As a young man, Yakhin was a postman by day, a LECHI fighter by night.
Ezra Yakhin tells of his time growing up very poor in Israel what was then called Palestine. Though he lived in Jerusalem, the home he lived in didn't have a toilet, he had to leave his apartment to use a common bathroom for the building. Not having a kitchen in his house, his mother had to cook on a primus stove burner in the back yard of the building. Yet, Yakhin says he never felt like he was poor as a child because his friends and neighbors lived that way as well, so he didn't feel any different. Life was difficult, but there was a growing sense of the revival of the Jewish People in their home, Israel. The dream of statehood had taken hold since the end of WWI when the British, now with its troops in the Middle East, had promised, then reneged, on allowing the Jews to establish their homeland.
It was oppressive living under British occupation who clearly favored the Arab nations. The Jews were not allowed to protect themselves against Arab theft, violence or pograms. Curfews were common and the obvious preference of the Arabs by Britain made it impossible for Jews to live and practice their Judaism freely.
The British labeled him a 'terrorist'
Ezra Yakhin tells the story of how he wanted to help fight for the freedom of the Jewish nation. He had read about the actions of the mysterious heroes in the LECHI (Lochamei Herut Israel – Israel Freedom Fighters) underground. He yearned to join up but he didn't know who to approach. All members were recruited secretly, so he had to try to send out hints to his neighbors and friends to let them know he wanted to be recruited, without making it too obvious, where someone might snitch on him to the British. Sometimes he would wait at night to see if he could spot the newer members of the LECHI whose job it was to paste posters up on lamp posts and city walls urging people to throw off British rule and gain independence. But these newly recruited members were also impossible to find. They had to be good at being invisible, because getting caught by the British putting up 'freedom posters' was a crime. All LECHI members were considered terrorists. They could be caught, imprisoned and tortured for information. Yakhin, so much wanting to join up to fight for Jewish independence, would wait at night to try to find anyone hanging up posters. However, even he couldn't spot them. One moment there was nothing out of the ordinary, and the next, there would be a newly pasted up poster nearby, without a trace of anyone having been there.
Ezra Yakhin, still a youth, knew that his working at the post office would help the LECHI. British headquarters were at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem and he knew the area well delivering mail and telegrams. Photos in his book, ELNAKAM, show the streets in Jerusalem near British headquarters filled with barbed wire. Apparently, the British were very fearful of the Jewish underground groups and protected themselves by keeping nearby streets 'no man's land'.
Yakhin tells how he finally succeeded in being recruited into the LECHI underground, the secret ways he used his job at the post office as a delivery boy to help with LECHI intelligence, and how he finally was trained for real military missions against the British occupation forces in Palestine. He also tells about the first time he had to kill.
Obtaining weapons for defensive purposes and for driving out British forces from the Land of Israel was one of the greatest challenges for the underground. Yakhin describes one of his attempts to steal a gun from a British soldier. In the scuffle, he was shot and wounded. Limping away and bleeding, he tried to find safety and help, but it was impossible to go to a hospital because there he would have been found by the British. He also describes the fate of his fellow freedom fighters who were either killed by the British mandate troops or the Jew-hating Arabs.
Idealistic and also in the throws of youthful love, he shares with us the story of the girl he fell in love with who was also a LECHI member - and what happened to her.
After WWII, the British were even more lustful in finding Jewish underground members because of their aiding Holocaust survivors trying to make it to the shores of the Land of Israel. The British were strict with their policy of curtailing Jewish immigration to Israel. In his book, Elnakam, Yakhin shows notices sent out by the underground which stated: "Since the arrival of the immigrant ship, 'Exodus 1947' and the banishment of its immigrants, the Israel Freedom Fighters have begun a systematic campaign against the enemy forces, its vehicles and installations." The notice then goes on to show a list of strikes against British army patrols and bases. It is an impressive list of actions and Yakhin describes many of the scenes that could be scenes in a real action movie.
Yakhin also relates the heart wrenching story of his best friend who was kidnapped in broad daylight by the British and never seen or heard from again. British denials of any wrong doing filled and fueled news paper articles for quite some time. It wasn't until much later that the truth came out that he had been murdered by the British who tried to cover it up.
The book ends with his telling how he was fighting in the streets of Jerusalem in one of the major battles for the Old City, the area of Jerusalem where the Temple once stood and the Western Wall continues to stand. It is the holiest place in the world for the Jewish people. In this fierce battle to liberate Jerusalem and at great losses of his friends and other (now) Israeli fighters, an explosive shell was fired in front of him and exploded. As he turned to shield himself, shrapnel cut though his helmet going through the back of his neck up through, and out of his eye. Rushed with the other wounded fighters to the hospital, he had to have surgery without being given anethstesia. Throughout the several hour ordeal, awake on the operating table as they worked on him, he kept repeating to himself in the grips of immense pain, "A LECHI Man doesn't groan". He ended up losing an eye from his massive head wound and has a glass eye until this day.
Yakhin is still active to this day. Though over 80 years old, he lives in an old Jewish neighborhood which, since the Jordanian occupation of eastern Jerusalem, is now occupied by hostile Arabs. The apartment building he lives in is inhabited by a group of Jewish families and married couples who aren't afraid to re-establish their Jewish roots there.
An excerpt from his book, Elnakam:
"No sleep for you tonight," says Tanchum. "You're to go to the Abu-el Bassal quarter and mark the movements of the army there. What we need is information about the movements of military vehicles in the path joining the Beit Yaakov and Zichron Yoseph quarters."
We went to look for the place best suited for the look-out base, finally choosing the brick factory in Sadoff's yard, where I could hide all night behind a pile of bricks and observe the movements of the vehicles on the path. I didn't go home this time to tell my parents that I was "sleeping at a friend's place," I simply couldn't face the fearful look in their eyes, knowing full well how anxious they would be. Obviously, they would not be slow in making a connection between my absence and the acts against the Brits, and their feelings, when I failed to return that night were not hard to imagine. On the other hand if I didn't let them know in advance, they might comfort themselves with the thought that I had been caught breaking curfew and arrested. This wasn't pleasant, but implied a fine at the most.
So – no going home. As curfew time approached I was ensconced behind my pile of bricks. Each of the neighbors nearby took a last look at the yard before lowering their shutters and locking their doors, and they all saw me there. To avoid their worried glances I slipped around to the other side of the pile, making myself fully visible to the patrols enforcing the curfew. Only after everybody was shut inside the houses did I slip back – only to be cordially invited by someone peeping through the shutters to go in and stay till the morning. Ignoring the invitation I waited tensely for darkness to fall.
The noise of army vehicles touring the area filled the night. Sometimes they would stop to permit a foot patrol to get out. At times, some men talking English, approached my brick pile, and I couldn't tell whether they were just loitering or going straight for me. Hearing a vehicle approaching I would raise my head to see it, risking being seen by a passing patrol. I could hear them but it was too dark to see them. Conversely, I realized that my dark figure could be easily made out on the background of white bricks, and I was just what the enemy was looking for. There…. They were coming, now! They had seen me and where could I hide? They were getting nearer. Their English fell painfully on my ear. No place to run…. "
If you want a book that will educate you, make you laugh and cry, show you miracles and is just one darned good read of a true story of the heroes that fought for the Jewish homeland after 2,000 years of forced exile, GET THIS BOOK, ELNAKAM.
