Zionist Plots and Zionists 'Plotz' (From Laughter)

Two items that appeared in the Middle Eastern press this week are perfect specimens of the rampant and rabid paranoid anti-Jewish incitement, coupled with avoidance of responsibility, in the Muslim world.

The more entertaining of the two items concerned the world-renowned Hogwarts student of magic, Harry Potter. Yes, that Harry Potter.

What, Islamic fundamentalists are not allowed to cash in on Pottermania?

Kayhahn, an Iranian publication closely affiliated with the ruling mullahs under "supreme leader" Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called the Harry Potter series "a billion-dollar Zionist project." The books have been nefariously designed, according to Iran's mullahs, to "disrupt young minds." Khamenei had criticized Iran's Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry for approving the distribution of the latest book in the Harry Potter series.

Fie! Our plans have been revealed! What gave it away? Was it naming the character in the Harry Potter series who wants to control the world "Voldemort," in homage to our esteemed leader "Olmert"?

Less amusing, but equally insightful, were statements made by Sudan's defense minister,
This is, you must admit, a bit pathological.
as reported by the Saudi Arabian daily Okaz, to the effect that Jews are the reason the mass-murder-genocide in Darfur is considered to be such a big, annoying deal.

(After all, is a genocidal race war by Arabs against Blacks in Africa really such a big deal, in comparison with the suffering of Arabs waiting in the hot sun at Jewish checkpoints in Judea and Samaria? But I digress.)

According to Sudanese Defense Minister Abdelrahim Mohammad Hussein, the Jews are wielding their control of the international media and financial markets on behalf of rebel elements inside Darfur, including by direct financial and political support. "The Darfur issue is being fueled by 24 Jewish organizations, who are making the largest amount of noise over the issue, and using the Holocaust in their campaigning," Hussein continued.

Mwuah-hah-hah-hah-hah! All those United Nations resolutions condemning Sudan! The deployment of UN "peacekeepers" in Sudan! The daily - daily! - editorials the world over condemning Sudan! The campus agitation against Sudan's very right to exist! Yes, we have been extraordinarily successful in the case of Sudan....

All kidding aside, this is, you must admit, a bit pathological. And yet, completely expected and reflective of the Muslim mindset when it comes to the Jews. Why? Maybe the Koran has the answer:

Koran 5:64 - "Every time [the Jews] kindle the fire of War, Allah doth extinguish it; But they ever strive to do mischief on earth."

Koran 5:13 - "You shall always discover treachery in [the Jews] excepting a few of them."

Academic Whoring for Ward Churchill

 

Well, the ultras of the Far Left were unsuccessful in trying to get Norman Finkelstein tenured on the basis of his Neo-Nazi attacks on Jews, misrepresented as "scholarship."  A bit like certain tenure proceedings that come to mind at Ben Gurion University.

The next battleground is Ward Churchill, he is due to be canned by the regents at the University of Colorado this coming week.  Churchill is the clown who saluted bin Laden for attacking the "Little Eichmanns" in the WTC towers.  He is a make-pretend Indian (he is an Indian in exactly the same sense as Michael Lerner from Tikkun being a Rabbi), who also has a long track record for anti-Semitism (see this and this). So naturally the Left adores him.  The Academic Ultra Left is once again detecting "scholarship" in lunatic ravings of one of their own, a bit like they did with Kommandant Finkelstein.

It is interesting to see which "academics" are now whoring for Churchill and trying to prevent him being fired.  Many of them can be viewed on http://www.wardchurchill.net/

They include the Israel-bashing Middle East Studies "scholar", Richard Falk, Derrick Bell (NYU Law Professor of Marxism), the son of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg (a college teacher who really appreciates treason - runs in his family), Gary Leupp - Professor of History at Tufts University, and Adjunct Professor of Comparative Religion, and of course Peter Kirstein, the anti-Semitic comrade of Holocaust Denier David Irving, from St Xavier's in Chicago (Kirstein led the campaign of support for Finkelstein).

July 20 and Hitler's "Miracle"

July 20, 1944 is another date that will live in infamy. Hitler lived. Millions died.

On that date, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg attended a meeting of Hitler's senior staff at Wolfschanze - Wolf's Lair - along with 20 other members of Hitler's high command who were gathered to discuss the Russian Front. Stauffenberg had a separate agenda. Hitler had retreated to this place outside Berlin to thwart campaigns against his life from members of his inner circle.

But on this date, July 20, 1944, everything was in place - literally in a suitcase - to finally bring an end to this madman.

Stauffenberg was to be the lead in this real-life inside "plot against Hitler" but he was also part of a resistance movement that dated back to 1938 when he and other high ranking officers saw the light, or rather they saw the darkness that was about to doom Germany and the world.

In the spring of 1943, detonating devices were placed in Hitler's airplane - but the bomb failed to go off.

Days later, a similar attempt was made, and this also failed.

But the operation set for July 20, 1944 was near-perfect. Stauffenberg was to place a bomb in a suitcase and secure it at Hitler's feet during the conference at Wolf's Lair. Stauffenberg was unlikely to arouse suspicion since he was a trusted and loyal member of Hitler's staff.

Stauffenberg had the proper credentials. He was wounded during the campaign in North Africa, a military man from the word go, and he was also an aristocrat with a taste for poetry and philosophy. Sources describe him as having been on Hitler's side at the outset. But (according to what we read about him) he switched when saw what was being done to the Jews, to Russian prisoners of war, to Germany and to the world. 

Hitler must go.

On that date, July 20, 1944, Stauffenberg placed himself at the forefront of this operation that included dozens, perhaps hundreds, even thousands of fellow officers. These were soldiers and intelligence personnel, professionals. These were men who knew the business of killing whether openly or surreptitiously.

How could it go wrong?

As the conference began at Wolf's Lair, Stauffenberg set the suitcase, with a bomb inside, directly at Hitler's feet. He then excused himself and stepped outdoors. He timed the blast to go off at 10 minutes, and that's exactly what happened. The bomb went off and the building was demolished. Stauffenberg fled, as planned, convinced that Hitler was dead. Stauffenberg's confederates were similarly convinced that the deed was done.

They already had a new government prepared to take over.

Hitler suffered minor injuries. Three officers were killed and others suffered assorted wounds. The Gestapo rounded up some 5,000 "conspirators" and executed 200, including Rommel, who took his own life rather than face the "People's Court," even though there is still doubt whether he played any part in the attempted coup.

But Hitler lived. He was granted nearly a year, from July 20, 1944, to April, 1945 (when he died in the bunker), to murder millions more.

There is some evidence that Hitler spoke of his escape from the plot of July 20 as "a miracle; divine intervention."

This is a question for our theologians. Is there an answer?
