British Journalist Asks NY Radio Station To Reconsider

by Baruch Gordon

A New York radio station WQXR has refused to air an ad explaining the plight of Jews in Sderot. See the brief news item here:

In response, British radio journalist Walter Bingham, who resides in Israel and has frequented Sderot, has launched a letter-writing campaign to the station urging them to reconsider their decision. Write to: listener.mail@wqxr.com

Mr. Bingham's letter to the station appears below:

Dear Mr. Batunek,

As a radio journalist with 58 years experience, (yes I’m 84 years old and still presenting my own programme,)

I am extremely disappointed to learn, that you have judged the advertising spot requested by the American Jewish Committee to be misleading and its content open to challenge.

I have visited the Sderot area several times and can assure you that the rockets are indeed falling unpredicted and without provocation at any time during the day or night, and that the description of 15 seconds warning is absolutely accurate, as the distance between the two locations is no more than 1 to 1 ½  miles.

The government of Israel has for years now been extremely patient, and while the rockets are aimed at the civilian population, any action in response, has been meticulous to avoid civilian casualties among Palestinians, and exclusively aimed at the perpetrators of such attacks.  I greatly doubt if the ‘reasonable people’ to whom you refer are troubled by the absence of any comment about the occasional defensive action by the Israeli military, in the light of the volume of missiles fired at Sderot and neighbouring populated areas, on one day recently 22 and on another some 40.

It is important for journalists to be able to place themselves into the shoes of their subject or interviewee, to be able to report fairly, and I invite you therefore to imagine your feelings, when your small children or grandchildren are at school or even at play in your garden under those circumstances.

In the light of this, I feel that it would be right to re-examine the facts that led you to your decision.

I really would appreciate your considered reply, and send you

My most friendly fraternal greetings.

Oh, shut up, Yoffie

by Steven Plaut

I think we should hold a contest for the most imaginative ways to shut up "Rabbi" Eric Yoffie, the leader of the American Reform synagogue's political SWAT team, the "Union for Reform Judaism."  It is a political movement that seems to want to replace the Torah with Tikkun Magazine.  You know the the sort, Jews who consider Palestinian statehood and gay "marriage" to be the highest priorities for Judaism.  Yoffie evidently wants the Ten Commandments to be replaced with Barack Obama's campaign platform.

"Rabbi" Yoffie is a leading theological practitioner of Political Liberalism as Judaism, a form of pseudo-Judaism and "liberation theology."   Yoffie has a long track record of issuing anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian pronouncements.  This past week he is calling for a Jewish jihad against Christian evangelists, because the latter are guilty of supporting Israel.  Who does not need to be criticized, according to Yoffie?  Islamofascists, of course.  Last year, "Rabbi" Yoffie sucked up to them at the Islamic Society of North America's 44th annual convention in Chicago, IL.  While still president, Moshe Katsav made a point out of refusing to call Yoffie a Rabbi.

So imaginative suggestions for ways to shut Yoffie up are being solicited.

So far we have:

1.  Stick the stockings from a Reconstructionist Christmas tree into his mouth.

2.  Borrow a giant reefer for him from Arthur Waskow.

3.  How many Kafiyas can he swallow in an hour?

4.  Get him the seafood platter from a progressive egalitarian California Reform "temple" we know about.

5.  Two words: fur balls.

6.  Get him to recite fatwas from the Religious Action Center of David Saperstein at the speed of an old 45 record being played at 78.

7.  Make him give all his liberal speeches in Hebrew.  (Or Aramaic)

8.  Make him give a class on the Daf Yomi before any political speech he plans to give.

9.  Get him to a dentist who was admitted to dental school via affirmative action.

10.  Let him drink every day as if it were Purim.

New Israeli Group Battles Zionism

by Steven Plaut

Jews for a Second Holocaust
More Jihad Barbies Operating in Israel?

In Ben Dror Yemini’s column from last weekend, he discusses the latest group of Jews for a Second Holocaust in Israel, a group calling itself “Zochrot”(remembrances). No it is not a group trying to maintain memory about the past century of atrocities done to Jews by Islamofascism.

It is a group trying to “memorialize” the locations and names of villages and other sites occupied by “Palestinian” interlopers in the Land of Israel before the 1948 war and before the declaration of independence of Israel. The group demands that signs be erected by the Israeli government with my money to mark the locations and villages abandoned when these Arabs fled the battle zones in 1948-9, including on JNF lands. The JNF has agreed and cooperates.

“Zochrot’s” political agenda is quite openly the “Palestinian Right of Return,” meaning its right to destroy Israel and expel the Jews. Its reps participated in the “Let’s destroy Israel and replace it with a Single Arab state” conference in London recently, in which several other Israelis for a Second Holocaust participated. And to top matters off, the Tel Aviv Municipality is co-sponsoring a photo exhibit with these people about Arab Jaffa in dem olde days
.
The ZOCHROT web page is here.
