Quotes & Notes Corner: Mickey Mouse to Join Al-Qaeda?

by Nissan Ratzlav-Katz

As a veteran analyst of the Middle East, I foresee trouble brewing between Saudi Arabia, Iran and Hamas. It looks to be a bad one, possibly as historically significant as the Sunni-Shi'a split. I fear for international stability, my friends. And all over few imaginary mice.

It seems Saudi Arabia has launched a direct, aggressive and unprecedented attack on Hamas. I hesitate to even bring it up, for fear of causing riots worldwide. But, what the heck, there'll be riots anyway......

Thanks to MEMRI, we now know that Saudi cleric Muhammad al-Munajid has issued a fatwa against Mickey Mouse and Jerry. On Al-Majd TV on August 27, 2008, he said:

"According to Islamic law, the mouse is a repulsive, corrupting creature. How do you think children view mice today – after Tom and Jerry? Even creatures that are repulsive by nature, by logic, and according to Islamic law have become wonderful and are loved by children. Even mice. Mickey Mouse has become an awesome character, even though according to Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed in all cases."

(The MEMRI-provided and translated video clip can be seen here: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/1850.htm)

If you don't understand how this is an attack on the manly and Islamic honor of Hamas, well, it just means you have failed to understand the Middle Eastern mindset. Now, pay attention.

If Mickey Mouse is to be killed, then what of Farfour? Yes, Farfour - that Hamas-created jihadist Muslim supremacist mouse beloved by children throughout Gaza. Watch and read about Farour, the Mickey Mouse look-alike, here: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/122365.

And, as usual, the Iranian scholars take our discussion a step further, with more insightful and more trenchant analysis. Thanks to Professor Hasan Bolkhari we now know that Hamas has actually fallen prey to a Jewish conspiracy to corrupt the world and make mice acceptable.

As Prof. Bolkhari explained so lucidly: "The Jews were degraded and termed 'dirty mice.' Tom and Jerry was made in order to change the Europeans' perception of mice."

(The video evidence of this nefarious Jewish plot can be seen here: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/1049.htm)

How will this terrible, terrible conflict between these righteous Muslim factions end? I don't know for sure, but let's face it, mostly, it ends with them just killing each other for a few hundred years.

So clearly, Jerry, Mickey and Farfour, if they are to survive in the Middle East, can't allow their honor to be besmirched in this way. I predict the formation of the Mousejahideen Brigades in coming weeks. With time, they may link up with al-Qaeda and become "al-Qaeda of the Wainscoting" (AQWA), bent on holy war for the sake of rodents everywhere.

POSTSCRIPT: Now that I think about it, Farfour was killed by Israeli agents last year. So, wait a minute. Does that mean that the Jews finally get credit for doing a mitzvah under Islam, as practiced in Saudi Arabia? I'm so confused.

No, "Adequate Housing" is NOT a "Right!!"

by Steven Plaut

You have the Absolute Right to Save Money to Buy Housing
Gil Gan-Mor, an attorney for the far-leftist anti-Israel "Association for Civil Rights in Israel" group, which opposes civil rights for Jews and freedom of speech for non-leftists, has an Op-Ed in the Jerusalem Post, entitled "Adequate housing is a right," here.

Whenever leftists decide to turn something into a "right," it means they demand that you and I pay for it whenever someone else wants it.  Food is a right?  That means I have to pay for your food.  Health care is a right?  That means you do not need to bother to buy health insurance because you can coerce me into paying for your health care.  Once everything is a "right," no one has any reason to go to work because everything they need is an automatic entitlement.

I suggest that Israel and the rest of the world adopt a new slogan.  Instead of " Adequate housing is a right," let's adopt the banner, "You have the Absolute Right to Save up your Money to Buy Housing Units of any Sort you Wish,"  and for that matter "You also have the right to go out and work and buy food, clothes, health care, education, housing, electricity, and anything else you want but don't come whining to me that it is somehow my job to buy it for you!"  If you are too lazy to work but then ask me for spare change, then you have the right to be spanked.  You have the right to behave as and be treated as a responsible adult.  You have the right to stop whining.

[One exception:  I am willing to pay to house leftist traitors in prison cells that adequately keep them there]

Quotes and Notes Corner: Putting Two and Two Together

by Nissan Ratzlav-Katz

For this edition of the Quotes and Notes Corner, I will not be reaching too far back in history.

On Saturday, Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu of IsraelNN.com reported: "An Arab terrorist stabbed a nine-year-old boy at the Shalhevet neighborhood in Yitzhar in Samaria on the Sabbath, torched an empty house and tried to set fire to a second building."

The usual suspects from the Arab parties, Meretz and Peace Now squawked about "violent settlers" after residents of Yitzhar had a little organized riot in the Arab village the assailant supposedly came from or ran to, Asira al-Kabaliya. Cars overturned, shots fired, stuff set on fire. That sort of thing.

One day earlier, as reported by Hana Levi Julian, "Violent riots again broke out in the Palestinian Authority-controlled village of Na’alin on Friday, leaving two Border Guard police officers lightly wounded in the melee. Left-wing Israeli activists, foreign nationals and Palestinian Authority Arabs have been rioting at the site almost daily...."

Now let's go back a few more days last week, all the way to Wednesday. IsraelNN.com reported: "About 100 Arabs from the village of Asira al-Kabaliya near Yitzhar in Samaria rioted violently near Yitzhar's Shalhevet neighborhood Wednesday. They threw rocks, cursed and set fields on fire. The fire spread into the community and was put out when it came near a home with a mother and three children inside it."

What did the Meretz and Peace Now types have to say on Wednesday about THAT riot in the Yitzhar area? And on Friday, about THAT riot in Na'alin?

Exactly.
