The problem of how to end Palestinian Arab terror and attacks has been bandied about for years. Many methods have been tried, none successfully. However, there is one thing which has not yet been tried and it has the advantage of stopping terror permanently, no matter what the outcome. Lest you think a win-win situation too good to be true, hang on to your babushkas, this one is for real. And the beauty of it is that it is simple. (Which is probably why no one has thought of it before.)

When dealing with an enemy, one must threaten them with what they fear most. Usually, this means the threat of death. Unfortunately, with the Palestinian Arabs, they welcome death as a way of getting into Muslim heaven as shahids, or martyrs. Also, sometimes isolating or dethroning the leader of an enemy is enough. But if that leader is viewed by his followers as being the best thing for them, then such isolation only serves to make him stronger in the eyes of his followers. Such is the case with Yasser Arafat and Israel?s efforts to delegitimize him. He will only be delegitimized by his own people.

So that leaves the question, what do the Palestinian Arabs fear most? Poverty? Nope. If they were so darned poor, they would have accepted their own state back in 2000, not started their latest intifada. Isolation of their leader Arafat? He will never be isolated as long as he continues to call the shots; no matter what puppet the world puts in his place to act as his public persona.

The thing the Palestinians fear most is loss of land they plan on using for their own country. Notice how they scream and tear their hair out over a security fence. Therefore, using this fear of loss of land as a lever is the most powerful weapon Israel has in its arsenal.

Here?s how it would work:

For every attack, every act of stone-throwing, every axe-murder, kidnaping, genocide bomber, rocket attack, etc., Israel will permanently reclaim some land now occupied by the Palestinian Arabs. Perhaps it can be done on a sliding scale. One parcel of land for each Israeli injured, 10 parcels of land for each Israeli killed, plus one parcel of land for each act or attempted act.

The reclaiming of such land can be justified three ways: as a deterrent, as a buffer and as punishment. It is also arguably more humane than firing a few missiles at some building. If the Palestinian Arabs saw that their war against Israel was losing them their country in the physical sense, how long would they keep it up? If each time Arafat, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, al-Aqsa Martyrs, etc. was the direct cause of the loss of a village or town, how long would the people keep supporting them? What potential genocide bomber would commit his act of murder knowing that his village would then be taken over by the infidel Jews, never to be returned? How long would the people praise and honor those who caused their future homeland to be permanently confiscated?

Even if the Palestinian Arabs are too pig-headed to stop their murderous attacks, Israel will still win with this plan. After a while of implementing this tactic, there won?t be any land left that isn?t Israeli and all the Palestinians will be gone. Gone where? Who cares, it is not Israel?s problem. Let their supportive Arab brothers take them in. Israel, like any other country, is not responsible for the welfare of its enemies. And anyone who attacks Israel or her citizens is an enemy.

Some people will argue that if Israel does this, the US might threaten or actually withdraw financial support. Although I doubt that the US would really stop aid to Israel altogether, even if America did, it would not be the end of the world, and it might even be a good thing. First, the majority of Israel?s capital does not come from US largesse; it is largesse with way too many strings attached to even be considered anything other than blackmail.

Second, historically, Israel depended upon private benefactors during her inception. I?m willing to bet my best corn pad that if Israel were to put out a world-wide plea for aid because the US cut her off when she took a new tack in dealing with terrorism, Israel would find herself embarrassingly overwhelmed with offers of financial aid from the private sector.

Third, letting America and the rest of the world know that Israel will never again let some politicians with too many big oil connections (translation: Arabist taint) control her safety, physical boundaries and security, will finally liberate her into doing what is best for her citizenry. After all, world opinion doesn?t count if you are dead.

And lastly, when America deposed Saddam Hussein, it was looking to get a foothold in the Middle East that would cut Israel out of the loop. If you think America has been tough on Israel now, just wait. You ain?t seen nothing yet. It?s time for Israel to take care of her own and trust in HaShem to assist.
