Is Ocasio-Cortez your kind of GIRL?
Is Ocasio-Cortez your kind of GIRL?

Moments ago, Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis was on TV, Fox News, explaining why he objects to the Democrats’ new IT-Girl from Da Bronx, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Let alone her Socialist views, “She says Israel is occupying Palestinian land. Well, there is no Palestine. She is plainly anti-Israel.”

No doubt about that…plus…

Did someone just say GIRL? Oh yes, I did. No, wait, so did DeSantis, and that’s how he got all those Progressives going after his scalp.

On the campaign trail for governor, he peppered his speech as follows –

“You look at this girl Ocasio-Cortez, or whatever she is, I mean, she’s in a totally different universe. It’s basically socialism wrapped in ignorance.”

Yes, that’s what the Democrats are hatching these days…and…

OMG! Did you hear that? He…called…her…a…GIRL. There is nowhere to hide after such an infraction. In Sports, he’d be tossed out of the game.

In politics, it’s the road to perdition.

Strange, though, how times change. Back in the 1960s, 1966 to 1971, one of the most popular sitcoms starred Marlo Thomas.

The show was called “That Girl” and nobody went nuts. America survived. Post-World War II writer Irwin Shaw was lucky to have come before this PC generation to go ahead and write one of the greatest short stories of all time, “The Girls in their Summer Dresses.” That would have been impossible today, and this novelist barely made it under the wire with his book, “News Anchor Sweetheart.”

There was a time, before Ocasio-Cortez and her age of political correctness, when language was allowed to breathe.

Now Progressives are on the verge of buying up all our nouns and pronouns to repair the world and make it a better place, at least for Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi.

They want everything gender neutral, so that in their perfect society there are no more boys and girls, men or women.

No, they say, we are all “fluid” and interchangeable. So at 13, forget saying, today I am a man, because tomorrow you can say, today I am a woman.

Also, no more he or she, SO gender offensive, rather ze and hir and 61 different gender-neutral pronouns to choose from in the new dictionary proposed by the Left.

In a place called Babel, an entire civilization went to pot due to such confusion of tongues.

Seems that Ocasio-Cortez, who last month ousted a veteran politician to represent New York’s 14th congressional district in the next election, is okay being identified as a woman.

She’s 28 and don’t you dare call her a girl…except that, of all people, she did so herself, as we noted a few weeks ago in a column titled, “Two fresh faces from NY – both dangerous.”

On the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and speaking of Trump, she quipped – “I don’t think he knows how to deal with a girl from the Bronx.”

In case you missed it, she said GIRL. Yes she did. Oh yes she did. She called herself a GIRL.

So we need clarification from our leftist friends as to what is permissible and what is forbidden, so we can go on with our lives without being tagged as bigoted.

Perhaps Ocasio-Cortez should be given some slack for what so many allege to be her anti-Semitism. After all, she is just a girl – to quote from her own words.
