Hillary’s plagiarized convention
Hillary’s plagiarized convention

Somebody must have noticed something missing at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia – American flags.

“Palestine” flags, yes. USA flags, no, and hey, people were starting to talk, mostly over social media.

Where’s the flag waving, which the Republicans do spontaneously? They bring their own.

We, said the people who run the show – we must prove that we too can be patriotic. Can’t let Trump and the GOP get the upper hand.

So on day three, suddenly, there in Philadelphia, the place erupted with American flags, which were handed out to the delegates and waved strategically for the cameras. In other words, some of what the Republicans did a few days earlier, the Democrats did a few days later.

They figured that if Mrs. Trump can plagiarize part of a speech from Mrs. Obama, heck, we can plagiarize an entire convention.

So they studied what worked for the Republicans, and they copied, and in some cases they hijacked entire speeches.

Hillary’s speech all of a sudden referred to Israel – one line. Outdoors, meanwhile, the Israeli flag was being burned.

She also mentioned ISIS, as something to be defeated, but that came only after Trump himself dared her to bring it up.

Oddly, the entire Convention was a repudiation of the last eight years – Obama’s years.
From one speech to the next it was all about the greatness of America. Obama said so. Hillary said so. This was strange, especially coming from Obama, who spent most of his term telling the outside world how flawed we are; eight years of apologizing for our shortcomings, never our glories.

Not so this time, as people chanted USA…USA…USA.

Where did that start? Well, this too they copied from the Republican Convention. That’s where it started.

Not to be outdone by Republicans who take pride in America’s police, the Democrats, who prefer to celebrate Black Lives Matter and assorted cop haters – why here up on stage came several officers to ask for support, and they got it from the sound of one hand clapping.

No wild cheering as it was when GOP delegates filled their room.

Oddly, the entire Convention was a repudiation of the last eight years – Obama’s years.

One by one, from Joe Biden to Bill Clinton they spoke of fixing everything that had gone wrong, and then?

Why then they asked us to vote for Hillary, so that she can do it all over again. Obama himself said that a vote for Hillary was a vote for Obama.

This is good – after listing all the failures?

Hillary took nearly an hour to say what she would do to straighten out America. She therefore made a case against her own years as secretary of state.

She named all the work left undone by the White House, including dismal conditions that face our returning veterans, a cause also borrowed from Trump at the GOP Convention, and after all that, after naming all the deficiencies that lay at he feet of her own party – she asks for your vote.

By the way, all this talk about the GOP Convention being so “dark,” what can be darker than Hillary mentioning Trump 36 times in the most awful ways?

Where was the “vision” speech, the new frontier speech, the shining city on the hill speech?

Hating Trump – is this all they’ve got?
