May God Bless the Kurds with a Land of Their Own

The valiant and oppressed Kurds have much in common with the Jewish state's struggle against its enemies. And God cares about all His creatures.

I bless the Kurdish people with God’s blessing to Abram, to be read in this week's Torah potion of Lech Lecha:

The Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your native land and from your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, And I will bless you; I will make your name great, And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you And curse him that curses you; And all the families of the earth Shall bless themselves by you.” (Genesis 12:1-3).

The Kurdish people are fearless and have a strong sense of national consciousness which will, God willing, overcome tribal loyalties and divisiveness in their midst. There are under siege and must fight for their existence and basic rights.

My blessing is that God will bless those who bless the Kurdish people much as God blesses whoever blesses the Jewish people.  Further, And curse him that curses the Kurdish people much as God curses whoever curses the Jewish people.

My blessing is for God’s redemption of the Kurdish people.

My blessing is that the Kurdish people with their military force and state live a normal life the way other nations with their own state do. The Kurdish, God willing, will live as a free people in the land they have inhabited for thousands of years with self-government.  I  recognize the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people to full independence and a state like all other peoples in the world.

I ask others to join me.

I expect president Obama of the USA to recognize a Kurdish state now.  Why? I quote from Dr. Mordechai Kedar on Arutz Sheva:

"No less a positive outcome would be felt in dealing with Islamic State. The Kurds are proving that they are just about the only force in the region that is steadfastly battling Islamic State. Other countries – Turkey and Iran – have not rushed to send their soldiers to the battlefield, and might never do so. The West and several Arab nations are limiting their involvement to air power, which cannot destroy Islamic State. If ground forces that can search each house, basement, apartment and ditch do not join the war, Islamic State will not be defeated. In that case, Islamic State will probably be around for a good number of years and the world will accept its existence as a fact."

President Obama has no alternative on how to beat Islamic State, the evil enemy of the USA and so many nations---other than recognizing a Kurdish State now.

The Kurdish people are fighting so valiantly.  My prayer is that the Prophet Isaiah’s blessing will apply to the Kurdish people today: They shall not toil to no purpose; They shall not bear children for terror, But they shall be a people blessed by the Lord, And their offspring shall remain with them. Before they pray, I will answer; While they are still speaking, I will respond (Isaiah 65:23-24).
