The Book of Judges is the second book of the Early Prophets, after the Book of Joshua, and is about the people of Israel's attempt to find leadership, after Joshua's death. It is not an easy task, and the book traces the ups and downs of various leaders, called "judges" who often attain miraculous victories over some of Israel's enemies, but never quite rule over all the tribes.
