In his second term, US President Barack Obama, if he continues the policies of his first term, will try to impose a new freeze on Jewish life in Judea and Samaria.
In 1992, then MK Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “A building freeze means abandoning territory”.
This is what Obama is looking for: truncating Israel and deporting 600.000 Jews. Hanan Porat in 1992 declared: “The freeze is tantamount to blasphemy. It’s worse than the apostasy decrees of the Roman Emperor Titus. Even the British government’s 1939 White Paper pales in comparison”.
In his second term, Obama will try to add his name to those of Nebuchadnezzar and Titus, who exiled the Jews from Bethlehem, Shilo, Beit El and Hevron. And if a more left-leaning government rises in Israel in the next January elections, Obama will also have his Josephus Flavius in Jerusalem to implement this Judenrein program.
The real Obama’s vendetta won’t be personally against “Bibi”, but against the Jews of Israel. Obama will use the Diaspora in order to punish the Israelis. The US Jews who enthusiastically re-elected the president are blind to and comfortable with the avalanche that is going to fall on the State of Israel. Under Obama, a malignant growth will raise its ugly head: anti-Jewish legislation.
Jewish building in Judea and Samaria will be reduced to the status of an exception. A Jew will be allowed to build only within the pale of “Jewish settlements”. Even a Jew who owns the land and who possesses a building license from the municipality, will be nevertheless forbidden to build.
And this is solely because of his race. Just because he is a Jew. Jewish human rights will be trampled underfoot, Jewish democratic rights will be disregarded.
The White House will try to impose a policy in which no government allocations will be given for superstructures, such as roads, water pipes, electricity or sewage systems for Jews in Judea-Samaria. The ethnic cleansing of the Jews by a Jewish government will be put into effect by economic measures.
The Obama’s Administration will do that by being sure that everything is performed by an Israeli government. It must be a perfect Jewish circus in which Jews punish other Jews. It’s like the Gush Katif disaster: no one can criticize the US administration for the withdrawal from Gaza. This was entirely an Israeli initiative.
Against those Jews - the ones who cry over rocks and mud, pine trees and barren hilltops.
Obama’s Arabists in Washington will also act as if there are two kinds of terror: international terror, against which the White House is fighting everywhere; and “national” terror, such as that between Israel and the Palestinians. The latter is a different kind of terror, in the face of which the Jews must retreat in a series of “disengagements”.
Obama will try to impose on Western Eretz Israel the creation of a PLO state, an organization of murderers and Holocaust deniers now officially dedicated to the mass deportation of Israel’s Jews.
Obama’s magic word will be “demilitarization”. But we all know that Germany was demilitarized after World War I, but when Adolf Hitler began building up the German army during the 1930s, the Americans and the Europeans took no action, they were not prepared to go to war.
Obama’s aim is to replace in Judea and Samaria the only single force capable of maintaining stability, the Israeli army, with a grotesque mixture of Fatah-led Palestinian police and Islamic militias arrayed against the Jewish residents so as to turn the area into a dangerous Lebanese-like free-for-all.
Obama wants a return to the old good days of the signing of the Oslo agreement, when the settlements, deprived of government funding and subject to constant Arab harassment and terror, were expected to die. The Israeli press was full of stories of settlers anxious to escape back over the Green Line if they were suitably reimbursed.
Obama surrounded himself with Jews who forgot that world acceptance has never been the most important value of the Jewish People. Jews over the generations have risked their lives for restoring Jewish settlement to the Land of Israel. One of the great paradoxes of our time is that those Jews who fight to the death against proscribing Jewish settlement in, say, Wyoming, can object to Jewish presence in Samaria.
Let’s hope that beneath permissiveness and materialism, Israeli society, at least, is still fundamentally rooted in Jewish faith and Jewish values.
Obama’s “peace” for Israel is a crusading obsession. Obama will work hard to see the flag of a foreign nation over the cities of the Jewish homeland. And the bitter prophecy of Isaiah (1.7) “Your land, strangers devour it in your presence”, will be fulfilled yet again.
