Op-Ed: Calling All American Jews in Swing States
Call all American Jews who live In swing states and let them know that if they support Israel, then come Election Day, there is a very easy decision to make.
It truly is amazing that many American Jews are still considering voting for President Obama, considering his record vis a vis the Jewish community.
Obama himself has said “I think there is a strain within the pro-Israel community that says unless you adopt an unwavering pro-Likud approach to Israel that you’re anti-Israel, and that can’t be the measure of our friendship with Israel.”
Over the summer, Obama in a meeting with American Jewish Orthodox leaders, described Israel’s elected government as “extreme right.”
Considering that Israeli elections are also upcoming a few months after the American election, and Netanyahu and Likud are expected to continue to win, why would anyone who supports Israel want Obama re-elected since he doesn't like Netanyahu or his government?
Undoubtedly a “pro-Likud” government will win (which means strength on national security, and natural settlement growth).
Can anyone believe that Obama who told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility," will be more strongly pro-Israel, as this is his last election and he won’t have to worry about the last election?
Democrat or Republican, consider the words of senior Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi who said: “…Republicans are using Israel as an excuse, what they really want are tax cuts for the wealthy. So Israel that can be one reason they put forth.”
She then said Jews vote Republican because “they’re being exploited.”
If similar offensive words were said about another racial group, there’d be mass outrage – that statement alone should have people shunning Democrats. Let the Dems understand that American Jews don’t care only about money.
Obama has been more concerned with Jews who build homes in the ancient Jewish homeland than Muslims building bombs in Iran.
Anyone reading this should call anyone they know who cares about the State of Israel in states like Iowa, Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, and North Carolina and urge them to vote the right way if they care about the Jewish state.
